For almost 2 years now i have been part of a forum/message board known as Footballsfuture. I first heard about it from my friend Eric in January of 2006 and have literally been addicted ever since. The two of us are huge Jets fans and when he told me about this site that he had found I had to check it out and soon enough started posting along with over 20,000 other people.
I first started out looking for a place to talk about the upcoming NFL draft and quickly found out it was much more than that. There are forums about the NFL, college football, each team in the NFL, fantasy football, the NFL draft and users own mock drafts. Although it is football based, its not all about football. There are threads on baseball, basketball, and "other sports" as well as threads not involving sports at all. "This Aint Sports Talk" is one of the more popular forums on the entire message board where members are free to post anything as long as it's within the rules. Theres also forums on Entertainment where members talk about movies, music, tv and more and another only on the video game Madden and video games.
I usually browse the forums multiple times a day, every time i sit down to my computer usually and sometimes for hours at a time. Either involved in discussions or sometimes just finding out some news or reading others thoughts. I've found that footballsfuture gets information out before most main media sources. I spend most of my time in the Jets forum and "This Aint Sports Talk".
It's amazing how much people know and just by reading posts I've learned more about the game and its players. The members vary in all demo graphs and for the most part there is no discrimination in terms of race, gender, age or anything but however even if unintended, the moderators do a great job of keeping it off the forums.
I love reading and talking about the Jets with many knowledgeable fans or going onto other team forums checking out what they're up to or some of my favorite players. "This Aint Sports Talk" is alot of fun and topics can range from funny stories or videos, advice about girls or health care, cars, homework help, short story writing, haircuts, or anything else that may seem fun or if someone needs help in anything at all. Some of the veteran posters come up with very detailed posts about their teams upcoming seasons that can take a while and multiple members to work on which are always a great read.
Being on there so long, day after day, you come to know some of the other posters and form great friendships. Either talking off the site, or joking around within a thread with a few other posters there is always something fun to do.
This site has become sort of a daily ritual for me and I'm so glad my friend first introduced me to it almost 2 years ago. It has really become a big part of my life and its a great place to talk freely about both life and football.
